Adolescences and Teen Counseling
Communication & Negotiation
space for Growth & Grace
Families are often faced with new challenges when children begin to navigate through their adolescent and teen years. It is a time of growth and discovery for teens as well as for parents. I work individually with the adolescent/teen and the family system to address issues such as parental separation and divorce, anxiety, depression, sexual identity, balancing a social life with school, family, and the stress of growing responsibilities. Let me help you learn the delicate dance of holding on and letting go.
Collaboration not Competion
Co-parenting is not one size fits all. After a separation or divorce, you may struggle with some of the same issues you had when you were together if you find that you are stuck in the same patterns without the skills to resolve conflicts. If you cannot communicate with your co-parent without being triggered, it might be time to seek outside help. Co-parent counseling is a wonderful way to have a professional guide you in identifying areas in your relationship that need improvement, finding new productive ways to communicate, setting healthy boundaries, and learning to collaborate. All of which benefit the children and the individual households.
Conflict Resolution &
If you find it challenging to create a parenting plan that works for both parents and is in the children's best interest, private mediation may be the answer. Private mediation is confidential. It is voluntary and set aside from family law court process. I am a neutral party who can assist you in creating a customized parenting plan and help defuse any conflicts that may arise during the process.
Private Child Custody Recommending Counseling (PCCRC) & Child Custody Evaluations 3111
Conflict Reduction & Solution Focused Mediation
A judge may order private mediation when parents cannot compromise on a custody agreement. As a private child custody recommending counselor (PCCRC), my role is to assist co-parents in working together to reach an agreement. This agreement may include a parenting plan, holiday schedule, vacations, transitions, as well as guidelines for the children in each home. If the parents are unable to agree, I will make recommendations to the court in the best interest of the child. As a 3111 evaluator, I will gather information and make recommendations to the courts regarding contested child custody or visitation rights.
